San Francisco

Having flown overnight from Auckland, we arrived in San Francisco at about lunchtime. We had a quick shower and got the BART train into the city - not before buying a pair of return tickets for the wrong kind of train!

It felt really warm here today, like a summers day in Auckland. I've always been curious to see the SF weather because it's the same latitude as Aucks.

We got off the train in the centre of town, thinking we would get a tram down to the waterfront. We had a bit of a look and decided to walk it, thinking it would be good exercise after sitting on the plane for 12 hrs. It'll be just over that hill, the steep one up there...

One stiff walk later we got down to the Fisherman's Wharf area, to see Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge.
